Stuart Ashen is Coming to Dinner!
Occasionally on Fridays we’ll host SPEEDbit friends, and discuss the important things in life
This Friday we have Stuart Ashen AKA “Ashens”, a British comedian who annoys the masses with his improvised take on poor technology and cheap toys. On occasion he produces comedy skits for the BBC when they aren’t watching and leave the back door open. He’s 34 years old and lives near a shop that sells hammers. Is that where he gets his hammering style from?
How we were introduced to the wonderful world of Stuart? Well. From you! Our users. Stuart operates a cool YouTube channel accessed by many of our SPEEDbit Video Accelerator users. Where they can see a beautiful mix of royal wedding videos, Nintendo 3DS reviews and super hot remixes. With the help of our SPEEDbit users (5 million) on the planet, we get the inside scoop of what’s hot and what’s not. We love to share and hope you will too! Oh yeah. Forgot to mention. Stuart will crack you up!
Like our other Friday guest’s we asked Stuart 6 questions, concluding with our favorite: What do you have to be thankful for this week? So, here they are:
1.What are your favorite types of videos to stream?
I love some of the really bizarre comedy videos you can find online. The lack of editorial control on the internet means you can find some really experimental stuff that just wouldn’t work on TV.
2.What is your favorite fast song to belt out when dancing?
Destiny by Slagsmålsklubben. I usually don’t tell people that as it involves pronouncing the name of the band, which is a dangerous thing to attempt.
3.What is the one thing you’d like to speed up in your life?
The train journey from where I live in Norwich to London. It currently takes just under two hours. I always have the intention of doing some work on the train, but invariably I end up playing games on my phone and flattening the battery.
4.What most irritates you when you have to wait?
People around you who become crazily impatient when something takes longer than they expect. On more than one occasion I’ve seen businessmen throwing a childish hissy fit because a train has been delayed. It makes me want to grab their lapels and scream “THERE’S NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO, NOW GROW UP!” in their faces. (But there are laws against that I believe.)
5.What are your top three websites you can’t live without?
* YouTube, for video-related goodness.
* Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, for frequently updated comic frivolity.
* The Daily What, for all-important procrastination.
6.What happened this past week that you are most thankful for?
I didn’t catch on fire at all. Not even a little bit!
What about you what are you thankful this past week?
Have a great weekend everyone.
